One sealed calendar box with 24 numbered doors. Behind each door is one mini dumpling squishy, and there are 24 different characters in the set. You open one a day from December 1 to December 24.
We are not going to print a material name, an age grade or a safety badge on this page until we are holding the paperwork that backs it. Two reasons.
The first is that our own supplier's artwork and the marketplace listings for this style of calendar do not agree with each other about what the squishies are made of. Until we have that in writing from the factory, anything we printed would be a guess.
The second is that an age grade is decided by a small-parts test, not by our opinion. These are about 4.5 cm across. That is small. Use your own judgement about very young children in the house until we can publish a tested grade.
That first and second point are lifted almost word for word from the Consumer Product Safety Commission's own guidance to parents. We would rather repeat it than decorate around it.
It is a countdown, so the useful date is December 1 rather than December 25. Order by November 24 and it arrives with room to spare.
If you open it, look at it and decide it is not what you wanted, send it back anyway. We would rather take it back than have you keep something you are unsure about.

That is the whole point of an advent calendar, and it is the bit the cheap ones get wrong.
Every morning
The doors are numbered one to twenty four. Nobody has to be told how it works, which matters when the person opening it is five.
One pull
A single perforated tab. It tears cleanly and stays attached, so the box still looks like something on the twenty fourth.
Then
A new dumpling joins the line on the shelf. By Christmas Eve the row is twenty four long and the countdown is something you can see.
Most calendars in this category will not show you what is inside. We would rather you knew before you spent the money than found out on December the ninth.

The doors
Each door is its own sealed compartment, so nothing rattles loose and nothing can be peeked at through the side. The tab tears with one pull and stays hinged to the box.
The squish
Press one and the dent holds for a second before it fills out again. That slow return is the whole appeal of a squishy, and it is what separates one that gets carried around from one that ends up in a drawer.
The size
Product photos flatter. A coin does not. Each dumpling is 4.5 cm across and 4 cm tall, which is small enough to sit on a monitor stand and small enough that you should think about who else is in the room.
After the twenty fourth
Most advent calendars are over on Christmas Eve. This one leaves twenty four things behind. They line up along a shelf, go in a pencil case, get handed out, or quietly become the thing somebody fidgets with on calls in February.
